At Southern Vision Eye Care, our mission is to provide the highest quality eye care for the entire family, including geriatric and pediatric patients. We perform medically oriented eye exams incorporating the latest in technology, along with contact lens services and eyewear for every budget. Our doctors co-manage with some of the most highly qualified surgeons in the Birmingham/Cullman/Gadsden area and focus our clinical energies on establishing and maintaining great continuity of care amongst all members of each patient’s eye healthcare team. About Dr. Molly Tipton

 Dr. Tipton is a 2013 graduate of Auburn University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences. She graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with honors in May of 2018. While at UAB she completed an externship at the VA in Birmingham and was involved in conducting a pilot research study in the Vision Science department. She was also the recipient of the American Optometric Foundation Vision Care Award for Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care.

At 11 years-old her passion for optometry was sparked when her optometrist let her look through the microscope. Dr. Tipton now enjoys seeing patients of all ages. 

Dr. Tipton resides in Snead with her husband Matthew and two sons. When Dr. Tipton isn’t seeing patients; she can often be found in the saddle or at the barn. She enjoys both barrel-racing and jumping and has several championship buckles to her name. Dr. Tipton is also the author a children’s picture book; ‘A Pony Named Pickles’. She also enjoys gardening, hiking, and spending time with her dogs and ponies.

About Dr. Brooke Clackley

Dr. Clackley is from Boaz, Alabama. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Alabama where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in biology and completed the Honors College Program. She earned her Doctor of Optometry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2023. While at UAB, Dr. Clackley served as an academic tutor and ambassador. She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and Gold Key Optometric Honor Society. She received the Dean’s Award of Excellence and the VSP & AAOF Practice Excellence Scholarship. She completed externships at the VA in Tuscaloosa and in private practice on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. She went on to complete residency training in ocular disease and primary care with the Indian Health Service in New Mexico at Zuni Comprehensive Community Health Center serving the Zuni Indian tribe. Following completion of residency, she returned back to Alabama and joined the SVEC team. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages providing quality optometric care. Her and her husband, Nolan, reside in Boaz with their daughter and dog, Chief, where they dedicate their time to family, friends, and church.
